American Graphic Design Award Winner

Towson University Design Center's International Admissions viewbook and companion flier won Graphic Design USA Magazine's 2009 American Graphic Design Award under the Brochures and Collateral category. GRACoL 7 is the latest certification and recommendation for quality sheetfed printing that MRP subscribes. The GRACoL specification offers guidelines for common commercial printing unlike the ubiquitous SWOP [ Specifications for Web Offset Publications] print conditions which describe magazine (publication) printing. G7 refers to a print calibration process. Mount Royal Printing Company's proofing system is fully G7 certified!

MRP Cuts Its Ink Waste

“I'm using my ink, not wasting it,” says Steve Brinkman, pressroom supervisor for Mount Royal Printing (Baltimore). The shop recently installed a Vale-Tech (Suffolk, England) CD14A cartridge-fed ink dispenser, which has helped the company save more than 50 percent on its ink bill.
Before the installation, Brinkman hand mixed PMS colors every day. The new dispenser enables him to mix the exact amount he needs without waste. He expects the machine to pay for itself in just 24 months with the reduction in ink, disposal and labor costs. The Vale-Tech CD14A comes pre-loaded with the Pantone database.
